If any visitor has any results that they have from any of the local leagues listed on our page, I would be most grateful if you could e-mail me the dates, teams competing and the final result. 15/5/2000 - Sorry about the delay in updating - pressures of work! - Our swimmers have been involved in the NESCA relay championships, as well as the Yorkshire relays, and we did manage to get a boys and girls team into finals at both competitions. More, hopefully, will appear on their respective pages - referred to from this page.

New this up-date is the updates to the results page (Alligator league) as well as a guide to the duties of open water swimming officials. Friendly league gala report for 15th April (not fully completed) Our Open Gala next month is now closed. Apologies to any club who did not get their entries accepted. I'm afraid demand exceeded supply. In our first gala, 4 year's ago, we accepted far too many entries, and we only just got away with it from an health and safety point of view. We have each year since, finely tuned our entry numbers - hence we could not take any more entries - Sorry! Please try again next year - but get your entries in good and early to avoid any disappointment. Next year, I will place reminders and entry details on the website, when we are reaching the maximum entry, so please keep reading what will become our A/B Gala 2001 homepage.

02/7/2000 - Once again, I have been unable to get the site updated as quickly as I would have liked. What with getting a new computer, and getting that setup, plus getting a new ISP (NtlWorld), the website has been a little neglected as of late - For that - I apologise. We have had friendly gala's, our Open A/B meet, various Ridings meet, plus a number of our swimmers have been involved in the NESCA Championships. I hope to put all the results onto our website. The results for the A/B Grade gala can be found at  M-Swim website, or you can download a word document from our site here. Our results as well as others from our area can be found at this site. Please to note that you will perhaps notice links to my Ntl server. Please keep looking on this page, for updated news, hopefully in the next few days. There are other updates to have taken place around the website, but I want to get this posted as soon as possible. Many thanks for your patience....Paul Y.

13/8/2000 - Hi people. Events have once again got the better of me, and my son being rushed into hospital with a burst appendix and his subsequent recovery has preoccupied me somewhat! I'm glad to say that he his making a full recovery, and is looking forward to swimming on the 24th August. (six weeks after his op')

I'm currently working on our Open meet swimming gala which took place on the 30th July (my birthday!) We also have a report about our Club's involvement in the European Open Water championships at Holme Pierrepont (June 10th). I also have a report from Scarborough 'storm' Riding's League Div2 from 15th July to show on the website soon. Until later then...Paul Y.

22/9/2000 - I just don't know where the time goes these days - it only seems like yesterday that I was actually editing the website...but I know that not to be true! Many exciting things have been happening at Scarborough Swimming club recently, with five of our swimmers selected to represent England in open water swimming in an international meet held in France. It may have been six swimmers, but unfortunately as you already know, Aaron Yeoman, my son, was taken ill (see entry above) and could not be considered for selection (better luck next year son!.) The reports for this event, and hopefully with the odd photograph, will appear soon! (where have I heard that before!) Open water has really hit it off here at Scarborough, with regular training at Wykeham Lakes, and at Atlantis open air swimming pool (formally the North Bay Pool in former times) Anyway, you will be asking "What have I updated on the website then?" Well, I have updated the gala results page, which is now up to date with all Ridings and Pocklington Gala results, along with promotions and relegations where known. The dates for our year 2001 A/B gala can be found here. The Ridings and Pocklington gala dates page is updated to show amended dates as required, along with many for new year (Ridings and Masters champs etc.) I do have quite a bit more to get published on the web - Gala reports from the Ridings and International swims, plus updated records, which will include the Ridings records for the first time. Again, it will be just a matter of time to devote for me to get this work done (a feeble excuse I know!!) but I will get there in the end. Oh yes, just to mention that my son Aaron is now back into full-time training, and we were most impressed with his first competitive event since his operation at the recent ESSA (Eastern Schools Swimming Association) Championships held at the McAlpine Stadium in Huddersfield, where he was 4th in the 100m Freestyle - just missing out on the medals, but a good 59.16 time! Not too far of his PB of 58.50! More on the gala will appear when yours truly can get to it! Many thanks for reading, and please keep on coming back for more.... I hope.....Paul Y ( I  have also updated our club records too!)

27/09/2000 - We held our annual 'Les Rouse' handicap swim over last weekend (24th) and a report about our swimmers involved in the ESSA Individual championships held at Huddersfield on Saturday 16th September. STOP PRESS...Matthew Kaiser has been selected to swim in the Open water championships in Honolulu on October 20th - Well Done Matthew from all at Scarborough Swimming club!

12/10/2000 - A trip to our nearby neighbours, Kingston Upon Hull, for their Open A & B Grade Gala, saw some 10 of our swimmers bring home medals of some description. The report can be found on the reports page or can be found here

19/10/2000 - Just catching up on some reports that got missed during the summer months. There are more, but I want to get them published on the web as soon as possible. The Ridings 'Storm' report from the 15th July Gala can be found here.

The 'Storm' team were unable to compete in their final Ridings Gala, and therefore will be relegated into Division 3, which means Pocklington have been reprieved from relegation. I feel that the our club did not make enough effort in raising a team for this Gala, and even though we would have been 'short-handed' at the Gala, I felt that our club should have made every effort to provide a team to swim. It would have only taken 1 swimmer to complete 1 event, and our club would have secured the one point required to stay in Division 2. Congratulations go to our neighbours, Kingfishers, who will replace our 'Storm' team in Division 2 next year. More gala news to follow later.

26/11/2000 - Another month has flown by since my last addition to the website. In this time, there has been quite a bit of activity at the club. Last night saw the club win the Pocklington League Division 1 trophy for the first time, no mean feat when you consider that we have Hull Swimming Club in our division! Many of our swimmers have won sporting achievement medals, and have appeared in our local press. There is further reports for the gala in Middlesbrough, where our swimmers did well, plus we had swimmers in the NECASA 3 Km swim held at the pool, where we took 1st and 2nd! I've also updated the club's best times, if anyone knows their swimmer has achieved better than what's shown, please e-mail me, and I will change it. (male)  (female)

More to come readers.......Paul Y

28/11/2000 - A report appeared in the Scarborough Evening News about the NECASA short course championships held in Darlington recently. Many people have asked me where to look for the results of the 1st World Open water championships, which were held in Honolulu. I've found a couple of sites you may wish to look at, plus the ASA website, I've also made the link to M-Swim, where must results and forthcoming galas from all over the UK can be found. Some of you may be interested in a site which advertises forthcoming events is here. Another site which advertises forthcoming events is this one. Another site of interest is the BLDSA, it's worth a visit too.

As always, if you find a link located on any of the pages on this website that doesn't work, please drop me an email, and I will correct it......Paul Y.
