5th October 2007 - The club has been busy once again. We have competed in 2 Pocklington Times galas, where we have finished in 4th place both times, but that said, there were many personal bests achieved by our young swimmers. We have also swam in a North Yorkshire Gala and results will appear here soon.
Adam Harvey swam in the Masters Regional Swimming Championships held in Harrogate on the 22nd September and he came away with a Gold medal in the 200m Freestyle winning in 2:06.59 and picked up a bronze medal in the 100m Freestyle in a time of 58.98. Going for a hat-trick of medals he was unfortunately disqualified at the start during the 100m Butterfly, in an event he probably would have taken the Gold medal.
Results from our Pocklington Times gala held on the 16th and 23rd of September can be found below, as can the earlier galas. The results so far are:

This league is certainly a strange one with teams such as Hull occasionally putting in a weak team, followed by a very strong one, and a team as big as Wakefield, where you would expect more. We have now finished out campaign for this season.
With one gala left, the likely outcome is that we will finish in 4th place in the league and just avoid relegation to division 2. South Holderness would have to win the final gala which is being held in Hull to miss relegation.
The only scenario for us to be relegated would be: 1st South Holderness, 2nd Wakefield, 3rd Hull 4th Askern
On Saturday night (6th October) our big Ridings Gala will be held at the Indoor Pool starting at 1830. With 2 wins under our belt, a third victory should see us crowned as Premier League Champions.
Why don't you have a look at the league table to see the state of things at the moment.
7th October 2007 - SCARBOROUGH CROWNED CHAMPIONS! A wonderful team display from Scarborough Swimming Club saw them top the Ridings Premier League when they empathically
won their home gala at the Indoor pool last night. All the team put in a fine performance which saw them reach a commanding position after 8 events, on 27 points, South Holderness 23 points, Kingfishers 20 points and Thirsk bringing up the rear with 10 points. The gala saw the return of ex Scarborough Swimmer JJ Wilkinson who swam for the Kingfisher team.
He was however, to make no impression on a rampant team performance who have now become the first Premier League Champions with one league gala remaining at South Holderness on the 20th October.
The lead was never in danger throughout the gala and focus now was on who would come 2nd in this enthralling gala. At the halfway stage, South Holderness held a narrow lead over Kingfishers with 63 and 61 points respectively. Scarborough were by this time out of sight with 76 points. With a few good swims coming from the final relays, it was Kingfishers, last year's division 1 champions, who finally secured second place with 127 points.
This was a polished performance from the Young Scarborough Squad and the whole team can be proud of their part in a magnificent gala and to totally eradicate the disappointments of last year. Well done to the CHAMPIONS!
