30th October 2008 - The club is proud to announce its second 'In the Zone' valentine's day gala. Such was the success of this gala last year, the decided to have another! Gala details and entry forms can be downloaded from the gala webpage.

The club will also be promoting its main gala of the year, The A & B gala which will be held over weekend 19/21st June in 2009 . Entry forms and more information will be available from the A & B webpage.

23rd October 2008 - After a look around the ASA website, I noticed that the fees for 2009 would be going up to: Category 1 - £6.75, Category 2 - £22.00! and Category 3 £4.00. This increase apparantly, is to fund the planned ASA office re-location to Loughborough University. The ASA have added 16%/17% to the fees. My personal views are that this is very steep increase, and personally feel that it is too much in one year.

18th October 2008 - After nearly 4 months, Scarborough Swimming Club has been without a website, but we are back.
We have had swimmers at different galas - Schools Regional Galas at Huddersfield, Yorkshire Winter Championships at Sheffield, Pocklington times league action, and Club Championships, with the 200m being held, with Ross Glegg setting a new record in the 200m event, setting 1:57.00, beating Laurence Mills record set last year in a time of 1:58.80. Full results can be found here.

A report from the Yorkshire Winter championships will also appear soon, where a number of finals were achieved. Further website undating will take place over the coming weeks.
We will be holding a 'In the Zone' gala again in 2009, with a date in February to be identified.
Our A&B will take place in June 2009, namely the 19th/20th and 21st.
Report from the Schools Divisional Championships. Can be found on October's update page.

29th June 2008 - A week on from a great weekend, our club swimmers have been in action again with the team coming home in 2nd place during the Ridings Premier League Gala held at South Holderness on Saturday night (28th) The result does mean that we will in all probability come runners-up this year. However, why not read about how our club members did in the A & B Gala last week.

22nd June 2008 - This weekend saw the club enjoy a most successful annual seaside gala when swimmers and parents from 22 clubs converged at the town's indoor pool. Over 300 swimmers took part, which was one of the biggest entries ever for the event. The weather for the most, played its part with some rainfall on Saturday but certainly not enough to dampen the spirits of the young swimmers. Results are made available in word and pdf form:

Session 1 - Session 2 - Session 3 - Session 4 - Session 5 - Complete (excel)

8th June 2008 - The club have been in action in the North Yorkshire League on the 7th June, and have done fairly well. Result: 1st Thirsk White Horse 175pts, 2nd Scarborough 111pts, 3rd Ryedale 95pts, 4th Derwent Devils 84pts.

Our open water page now has entry forms to all the regional events which incorporate the ASA Grand Prix 2008, and the entry form to the final, which will be held at Holme Pierpont is also available too.

25th May 2008 - The report for the second Premier Ridings League is now available on the Ridings webpage. Grand Prix Open Water entry form for the North Eastern Region will appear on these pages soon, as will entry forms for the other region's events which make up the Grand Prix which holds its final at Holme Pierrepont in Nottingham in August. An entry form for this event will also be made available.

18th May 2008 - Apologies for the great delay in new information for the past few months, but due to a family bereavement and other personal matters, updating this website has, unfortunately, taken somewhat of a low priority. Anyway, let's get on with informing you of the latest information regarding our A & B Gala next month. The latest Info' can be found here, with the warm-up timings also available.

Result of our second Ridings Premier gala which took place in the Indoor Pool on Saturday 17th May was: South Holderness 128pts, Kingfishers 128pts, Scarborough 121pts, New Earswick 90pts

7th February 2008 - The weekend's sprint gala is not taking any more entries from today, and all our readers are advised that the A&B Gala set for June is filling up fast and we would hate for any club to miss out.

31st January 2008 - Apology for not updating recently, I'm afraid with family commitments, time has been of a premium lately. Happy New Year to you all from me, Paul Yeoman and the rest of Scarborough Swimming Club.
